| WINTER MONTHS November thru the end of March EACH YEAR |
This time frame is historically the slow time of year (winter months) so you should REMAIN at the carrier your with now so you can still get loads from them and work with other carriers simultaneously during this time frame (and beyond).
Ask your expedite carrier for a list (most of them provide this
information) of other expedited carriers they recommend that allow this so you can join another one or two and you should try to get aligned with other carriers during this time frame.
During November thru the end of March, this is the best time to
coordinate this since its slower anyhow and you'll have the extra time.
It takes time and EFFORT but ITS WORTH IT! More revenue for you during the slow time of year should be your number one goal and of course any other time as well.
You should run for more than one carrier this time of year (thru the
end of March) and then things historically get SUPER busy all the way
through the middle of November and it starts to slow down again. The cycle starts all over every year.
After April, your need for multiple carriers will diminish as
everyone, gets busier and busier BUT - you should still remain with
whomever you sign up with anyway, because - your idle time will drop
dramatically and your miles will still remain higher than normal.
Get on with one carrier you choose, then another and another. No one carrier will most likely ever make you 100% happy. Some carriers you will like less than others. But, a combination of 2-3 carriers at the
same time, will make your overall expedited owner operator experience a pleasant one. More than likely, even a carrier that is not a perfect match for you will become a good ally and friend since your entire situation is much more pleasant, due to the combination affect you create.
We're telling you now, no matter who, you work for, even if its the biggest expedite carrier in the world, during the slow months, THEY will not be able to run your wheels off. They are not immune to these industry cycles. Also, the BIGGER the carrier, the more likely you'll have to have qual comm and this qual comm equipment will make it very difficult for you to run for multiple carriers ANY TIME of year. Probably impossible! We have a list for you we issue if you request it at our contact us link. Just put in the remarks box, what your looking for or wanting to discuss.
We can also assist you in great detail to give you a better
understanding on how to go about this in the easiest fashion and how to easily juggle your carriers so there are no conflicts with you and them and each of them together. |
