I'm new to this i have a chevy cargo van how much money am i gonna be able to make doing this?
Thread: This time of year it's normally slow, I usually get around 800-1100
miles a week with 2 carriers I'm running for. Last year was worse
but I think it was mainly die to the economic down turn since late
2008. If I was only with one carrier I guess it would be around
500-800 miles a week, this is why I'm running for more than one carrier.
I'm with Jung and T & K right now.
I'm working on getting on with one other
carrier in the next 2 weeks and working on that now. If your
planning on getting on with only one carrier, you won't make much
until the cold months are over. This web site has some good info
on the one link called "slow times" you should read.
Anyhow, I get .80 cents a mile at one place and .83 at another and
that's including my fsc. The other carrier I'm working on getting on
with now pays .92 cents a mile. This is unusually high, I hope it's
for real. If it is, I think I'll have it made in the shade. Between
these carriers my miles should pan out to around 2,000 miles a week
so the slow time of year really won't be.
My 22 foot Freightliner is on with Load 1 and seems to do ok there
most the time. I had my van there for a while but I like having it
with multiple carriers and I seemed to get slack from them so I just
put it somewhere else and it was a good move even though they are
good people.
Good luck!
